In semester one, during my UI research stage, I had began looking and icons for inspiration and for the Christmas hand in, I used placeholder icons as a temporary solution until I was ready to design my own.

Now that I was at a stage were I was personalising all the features and details in my high-fi prototype, I knew it was time to create my own set of icons for RX Ready.

Above you can see the full icon set which is included in the brand guidelines documentation in order for designers to keep the application consistent.

I designed these icons using sketch as my software and I feel like the outline approach helped lighten the design of the app as the colours and boxy design style used already, I think filled icons like shown previously with the placeholder icon set, would make the app look too clunky. Outline icons are just cleaner and less distracting which the purpose of icons are to help depict what a buttons purpose is for or to compliment text already in place.

After a few various attempts, I can say that I’m very pleased with the final icon set shown above.
