Welcome back to semester 2!

For this semester, I aim to jump straight back in to my mid-fi prototyping and refining it in order to start user testing. Once the prototyping is completed, I’ll be able to test my app with a broad range of users in order to receive helpful feedback regarding flow, information structure and the overall process. This will help me tailor my app before beginning the high-fi stages using branding and illustrations/imagery. This semester I want to focus on user testing and actively responding to feedback as the aim of this product to provide patient relief by giving them a user-friendly platform to complete their prescription tasks. I aim to do this by keeping inclusive testing and nhs design guidelines in mind as researched during semester 1.

Branding is another area I plan to readdress this semester. I think further refinement to the branding will come naturally as I begin my high-fi prototyping as at that stage I’ll be able to see what elements of the branding fit more naturally into the application throughout. And as I intend to include illustrations throughout the app, taking into consideration my lack of experience and skills in coming up ideas for illustrations, potentially looking at alternative options and researching ui feature further will be a benefit to the end outcome of my app. Branding will also play a big part of the launch strategy required later on in this semester so having areas like colour palettes and components at a high standard will be important at this stage of the design process/product launch. Marketing will be a fun element of this project as I’ll get to strategise the best ways of reaching my intended target audience but I’ll also be coming up with elements that I could make a reality and have displayed at my final year show demonstration.

And finally, the main aim for this semester is completing a high-fi, well integrated working prototype that can effectively demonstrate the main features of RX Ready for the Viva at the end of this semester.
