14th of September was our first day back on campus since March 2020 and it felt good to be back! Everyone seemed in high spirits to catch up with one another, even the lecturers. A strange adjustment, sitting in class wearing a mask but it's the safest way for us to move forward at this stage of the pandemic.

We went over the expectations for the year to come including the option to use Tumblr or Notion for our research and journals. I've decided to give Notion a go as it seems like a much more aesthetically pleasing platform with more control.

The first of our courses is IXD501 - Major Project Prototyping which will be covered by Daniel.

The second course is IXD502 - Research and Writing which is covered by Paul and Pauline.

A suggestion made by Dan whilst going over the expectations for final year was to highly consider integrating our dissertation with our major projects as this would reduce some of the pressure as we'd be focusing our research and work in one area. He and Paul also suggested updating/fixing our portfolio websites as come towards the end of the year, we will be looking to apply for graduation job roles and having our portfolios good to go and up to date will save us time in the long run.

Over the next 3 weeks, we need to start thinking of what we want our major project to be - the area of focus - however we were told not to be too concerned yet as we will be going over this in more detail starting Week One, 21st September.

To get our brain back in uni mode, we were tasked with getting into groups of 3 or 4 to work on a mini project by choosing one of the list of Zeitgeist topics below to explore a product, service or system that may address the issue, or part of the issue:
